And FOEDA has officially begun…

February 15, 2010

The conference has officially launched with outstanding opening remarks from four distinguished figures:

Emmanuel Kattan, senior communications adviser, United Nations Alliance of Civilizations

Andreu Claret, executive director, Anna Lindh Foundation

Ambassador Hagar Islambouly, head of external relations sector, Bibliotheca Alexandrina

Joyce Barnathan, president, International Center for Journalists (ICFJ)

All spoke of the importance of increased dialogue, tolerance and understanding. We look forward to working toward exactly that goal over the next three days.

Next up: Keynote Speech by Jonathan Wright.

The start is just indicative of many exciting things to come. I feel excited for being a part of this great learning opportunity and hoping it to be a distinguishable milestone in promoting citizen journalism that would be more focused on finding ‘common grounds’ and help create peace and harmony among civilizations.
