Online Tools
Hey everyone,
Unfortunately I didn’t attend the Women Leaders & Technology conference last week in Sharjah, but apparently it was really interesting. I followed the tweets (WLTC2010) and the conference site, and facebook group, and I collected a group of really interesting websites the participants were introduced too, which I thought you might find interesting.
I’m not going to write the descriptions, but trust me, they’re all very cool 🙂 One site, for example, is basically an online video collaboration tool for social change, another empowers non-profits to make better use of information & communication technology in their work, and a third is a platform that allows anyone to gather data via SMS, email, web & visualize it on a map or timeline.

Two quotes I really liked from the conference:
“Measuring impact of technology for social change is a little bit like measuring love.” Ken Banks
“Video allows us to examine our assumptions, biases and delve into our subconscious. Documentary workshops promote activism. The power of visual media to tell your story. As story tellers, move the audience into action.” Josh Weinstein
Hope you’re all doing great.
Thank you Ethar for sharing these tools and links and quotations with us.
How is it going #forum2010? I followed the live webcast this morning. It sounds really interesting and challenging.
Enjoy Spain!
Thank you Ether for the excellent online tools. I have not checked all but some of them are very useful and interesting. Thanks
Thanks Ethar! That’s very useful. As usual, I loved your choice of quotes.
