Understanding Common Grounds

February 28, 2010

Understanding common grounds mean understanding each other first. If you don’t try to understand each other and consider other side’s point of view and only stick to your point view and do not lean from your position there cannot be common grounds.

The gatherings like Alexandria provide opportunity to the media persons of different sides to sit together and understand the thinking, mindset and the point of view of each other and try to develop a win-win situation where all parties can sit and live together showing tolerance and moving towards dialogue.

Like Europeans thinking of Middle East society and Israeli journalist observing Pakistani media group and vice versa. Perhaps, today, positioning media on all sides also needs to take a position to remove the conflicts by debating them positively and analyzing the situation deeply. There is need for taking a position for peace, dialogue and better understanding for common grounds.
